This series was designed as part of the DC marketing campaign known as the DC Explosion. It was canceled in 1978 in a company cancellation decision known colloquially as the DC Implosion.

In this issue, after thinking back to his first adventure and then recovering the Cross of Coronado, Indy finds out that his father has disappeared while on a quest in part one of this adaptation.
